The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is always ready to support Vietnam and has prepared a 5-billion-USD loan to start with supporting the counrty’s infrastructure development, and will further mobilise private sector financing and resources to support sustainable infrastructure development in the country, AIIB President Jin Liqun told the Vietnam News Agency on July 17.

Vietnam reported 10 commodities with export turnover of over 5 billion USD during January – November.

The veggie and fruit sector aims to gross 5 billion USD from exports this year on the back of new-generation free trade agreements, the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (VINAFRUIT) said.

Boasting 1.8 million hectares of fruit and vegetable plantation, with many various zones applied advanced technologies into production, Vietnam aims to gain 5 billion USD from farm produce exports by 2020.

Vietnam is currently the second largest foreign investor in Laos with 269 projects valued at 5.1 billion USD as of March, 2017.

Vietnam is likely to reach a total export turnover of 200 billion USD for the whole year, surging over 13 percent from last year and exceeding the set target, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai affirmed at the regular meeting held in Hanoi on July 14.
