The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MoNRE), in collaboration with the People’s Committee of the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, held a ceremony on June 10 to launch the Vietnam Sea and Islands Week and the Action Month for the Environment.

Construction on a wind power plant with a capacity of 50MW began in Vinh Hau A commune, the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on June 1, as part of activities during the Vietnam Sea and Island Week and an Action Month for the Environment.

The Vietnam Sea and Island Week 2019 is scheduled to take place in the Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu.

A series of activities are underway in Hanoi as part of the Green Living Festival in response to the action month for the environment and the World Environment Day (June 5).

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a policy dialogue on environment and sustainable development in Ho Chi Minh City on June 5.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment plans to launch an “Action month for the environment” later this year to encourage stronger engagement of organisations, enterprises and the community in environmental protection.

A series of activities in response to World Environment Day (June 5) and Vietnam Sea and Island Week (June 1-8) will be held nationwide, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment announced.
