The Thai Transport Ministry has been taking measures to improve the safety for passengers using public transportation after the school bus fire that killed 20 students and three teachers on October 1.

Buses using compressed natural gas or CNG are deemed more eco-friendly than normal buses, however Hanoi’s plan to introduce a new fleet of buses has been hindered by multiple obstacles.

An environmentally-friendly bus route No. 33 from the An Suong Bus Station in Hoc Mon district to Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh City in Thu Duc district was launched this week.
