Vietnam has informed relevant countries about the presentation of its Submission on the Limits of the Extended Continental Shelf in respect of the Central Area of the East Sea, to the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS) via the diplomatic channel, said Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Pham Thu Hang.
On the morning of July 17 (local time), at the UN headquarter in New York, the US, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation officially presented the Submission of Vietnam’s extended continental shelf in respect of Central Area of the East Sea (South China Sea) to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS).
Fifteen DK platforms in the waters of the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau not only served as the collection of scientific information on the ocean and sea economy but also are the sovereignty marks in Vietnam’s continental shelf.
