Defence cooperation is a key pillar of the Vietnam – New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, and the two sides have expanded their ties to a new field which is to provide support for UN peacekeeping forces.
The two sides will continue to promote cooperation, focusing on increasing delegation exchanges at all levels, maintaining existing dialogue and consultation mechanisms, and expanding collaboration in areas such as personnel training, military medicine, and UN peacekeeping operations.
This is an opportunity for the Vietnamese soldiers to demonstrate the regular, unified, and powerful nature of the VPA as well as the wish to build peaceful, friendly, and cooperative relations with international friends.
Key collaboration areas include training, UN peacekeeping operations, defence industry, military medicine, and young officer exchanges, Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien said at his talks with Polish counterpart Pawel Bejda in Hanoi on March 24.
Both Vietnam and the Czech Republic have expressed their interest in enhancing defence cooperation, including in the defence industry and human resources training.
