Vietnam is working to improve its fertility rate as the country is facing the risks of an aging population as well as losing its “golden population” phase that affect the socio-economic development.

Green buildings provide more benefits for investors in the long term than normal buildings and reduce the economic burden for low- and middle-income families, according to general secretary of Vietnam Real Estate Association (VNREA) Nguyen Viet Chien.

Smoking has created an economic burden to not only smokers and their families but also society, said Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien at a meeting held in response to the World No Tobacco Day in Hanoi on May 31.
