The total area dedicated to growing flowers and ornamental plants has reached nearly 45,000 ha, an eightfold increase compared to the year 2000.

Da Lat, known as the city of flowers, is set to become a fresh flower export hub in Southeast Asia. The central highlands city aims to raise its annual flower export value far beyond the current 50 million US dollars to match its capacity of producing yearly 3.1 billion flower branches.

Flower export of the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong has risen sharply since the beginning of this year, in contrast to the gloomy picture of coffee, cashew nuts and tea that are being hit by COVID-19.
