A bronze statue of Goddess Durga, which was illegally trafficked into the US and repatriated to Vietnam, will be displayed to the public in the coming time, according to the National Museum of History.
A bronze statue of Goddess Durga arrived in Vietnam on June 18 and is being kept at the National Museum of History in Hanoi to serve researching and exhibiting activities, the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on June 20.
The family of British antiquities smuggler Douglas Latchford handed over a 7th-century statue to Vietnam at a ceremony in London on September 13 (local time).
