The Government apparatus in the 2021-2026 tenure, after restructured and streamlined, will feature 14 ministries and three ministry-level agencies, a reduction of five; and five Government-affiliated agencies, down by three, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Nine ministries and agencies under the Government will be consolidated under a resolution on streamlining and optimising the political system, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra told the Vietnam News Agency.

Personnel issues and strengthening the government apparatus will be the main focuses of the 8 th Lao National Assembly’s first meeting, slated to open on April 20, a Lao official has said.
