A conference to share experience in implementing the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) within the framework of a justice and legal empowerment project in Vietnam funded by the European Union (EU) was held in the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho on May 13.

Vietnam detailed its efforts and achievements in protecting and promoting civil and political rights at a UN Human Rights Committee meeting in Geneva on March 11.

The national report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) was the centre of discussion at a seminar held by the Justice Ministry in Ho Chi Minh City on July 17.

A symposium was held in Hanoi to review 50 years of the Int'l Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Int'l Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and their implementation in Vietnam.
