Politburo member and Chairman of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia hosted separate receptions in Hanoi on August 8 for the Indian and Japanese ambassadors to Vietnam.

The UN Day of Vesak was celebrated at Tran Quoc Pagoda in Hanoi on May 25, or the seventh day of the fourth lunar month, with the joint effort of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS), the Hanoi chapter of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, and the Indian Embassy.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted separate receptions in Hanoi on October 26 for Ambassadors of El Salvador, India and the Republic of Korea who presented their credentials.
