The talks between the offices of the CPV and LPRP Central Committees, Vietnam's nomination of a candidate for the judge position at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, and Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang's farewell meetings with UN leaders are among news highlights on May 30.

This marks Vietnam’s first-ever candidacy for a seat on ITLOS, a move that reflects the country’s consistent stance in supporting international law, multilateralism, and active contributions to global governance.

Ambassador Vu Trung My requested Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to soon recognise Vietnam’s market economy status and support its candidacy for the position of judge at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea for the 2026–2035 term.
