Vietnam exported its first 500 tonnes of low-emission rice to Japan on June 5, marking the international debut of rice grown under the one-million-hectare low-emission, high-quality rice project in the Mekong Delta.

More than 1 million people across the Mekong Delta will have their capacities boosted through training as part of a project on growing 1 million ha of low-emission and high-quality rice in the region by 2030.

Developing renewable energy resources is expected to help Vietnam reach its target of carbon neutrality by 2050, said insiders.
