The programme, entitled “Vietnam – Asia’s Economic Engine in 2025”, hailed Vietnam’s rise as the region’s second largest economy and its path toward a record-breaking export in 2025. This success, it noted, not only reinforces its geopolitical standing but also compels Western nations to take greater notice of the governance model led by the Communist Party of Vietnam.

When hosting the second DPRK-USA summit, Vietnam provides not only a venue with good logistics and security, but also encouragement for the two sides to leave the past behind, overcome their differences and look towards the future, said Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Ha Kim Ngoc.

The APEC Study Centres Consortium (ASCC) Conference 2017 opened in Hanoi on May 12 within the framework of the APEC 2017 Second Senior Officials Meetings (SOM2) and related meetings.
