It is noteworthy that Vietnam did not rest on its laurels but instead embarked on an inspiring journey: from the 1986 ‘Doi moi’ (Renewal) cause to developing increasingly closer relations with countries that were once enemies.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia in collaboration with the Literature and Art Association of the Vietnamese people in the European country organised a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory on May 7.

The Khaosan Pathet Lao (KPL) news agency and Pasason daily of Laos have ran articles highlighting President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary career, and his close relationship with the Lao revolution, on the occasion of his 130th birthday (May 19).

A German newspaper has highlighted Vietnam’s spirit of peace and national independence during the war, describing this as a decisive factor that led to the success of the country’s struggle for national liberation.
