The northern region of Vietnam will experience severe cold spells, with frost and ice in the first two months of 2025, especially in mountainous northern areas.
Coastal embankments in Phan Rang-Thap Cham city in the south central province of Ninh Thuan have been damaged by high waves caused by the northeast monsoon, threatening the lives and property of more than 300 households with 1,400 people along the dyke.
Hot spells will continue to hit northern and central Vietnam until August but they will not last for long and be strong, according to the National Hydro-Meteorological Centre (NHMC).
