Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh listened to overseas Vietnamese intellectuals' insights, recommendations, and proposals aimed at contributing to Vietnam’s national development.

Overseas Vietnamese (OV) intellectuals are a valuable resource for Vietnam, especially in the context that the country is entering a new era of the nation’s rise, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Denmark Luong Thanh Nghi.

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam appreciated the contributions made by overseas Vietnamese (OV) intellectuals in the Francophone countries to the homeland while meeting them on October 5 (local time) as part of his trip to France for attendance at the 19th Francophonie Summit and an official visit to the country.

The 4th World Conference of Overseas Vietnamese (OV) and the 2024 forum of OV intellectuals and experts, taking place in Hanoi from August 21-24, are expected to create forums with open space for OVs around the world, providing them with an opportunity to meet, exchange, share ideas and make contributions to the country's development process, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on August 7 evening met with representatives of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Japan (AVIJ), and awarded orders and medals to Japanese friends, as part of his official visit to the Asian country.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with some overseas Vietnamese (OV) intellectuals and young people in New York on May 15 as part of his working trip to the US and the UN.

About 1,000 overseas Vietnamese (OV) gathered at the annual “Homeland Spring” programme in Hanoi on January 26 to celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year.
