Vietnamese enterprises pumped more than 136 million USD of total investment into new projects and to supplement capital in ventures abroad in the first five months, equivalent to 43% of the figure seen in the same period last year.

Malaysia's ringgit is expected to continue to strengthen this year, trading at 4.5 RM against the US dollar by year-end, driven by the country’s positive economic performance, Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah Azizan has said.

The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) recovered 2.9 billion USD from overseas investments last year, topping State-owned enterprises (SoEs) in this regard, reported the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

Vietnamese investment overseas reached 572.3 million USD in the first nine months of 2021, up 32.4 percent over the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Vietnamese firms have been increasing their overseas investments in recent years in an effort to expand their global reach.

Military-run telecom group Viettel has recorded a pre-tax profit of 1 trillion VND (41.2 million USD) from its overseas investments in the first half of 2017, a 156 percent year-on-year increase.

Many Vietnamese businesses have recently had considerable success in investing in foreign countries after years of attempts.
