The 13th Party Central Committee (PCC) on August 16 elected Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, member of the PCC, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, and Minister of Public Security, to the Politburo. With this addition, the Politburo now has 15 members as of August 16, 2024.
The Steering Committee for External Information Service on October 11 organised a national conference on studying and implementing the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 57-KL/TW dated June 15, 2023, on continuing to improve the quality and efficiency of external information service in the new situation.
Politburo member and Secretary of the 16th-tenure Hanoi Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue was elected Secretary of this committee for the 17th tenure with 100 percent of the vote.
