An 1:1,000,000-scale administrative map of Vietnam online and in digital *.pdf format will be released once the National Assembly’s Resolution on the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units in 2025 takes effect in oder to promptly support the Prime Minister’s direction and administration, support state management by ministries, sectors, and localities; and meet requirements of organisations and individuals.

The talks between President Luong Cuong and his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nauseda, the NA's adoption of a resolution on the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units, and Vietnam listed as one of the few countries with a high level of food self-sufficiency are among news highlights on June 12.

Lawmakers will listen to a proposal and a verification report on the reorganisation of provincial-level administrative units in 2025 on June 11.

The newly formed localities are expected to better harness the region's potential and advantages to accelerate development.

Under the Party Central Committee’s resolution, Hau Giang is expected to be merged with Can Tho city and Soc Trang province to form a centrally-run city named Can Tho, with greater space for development, said NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

The ultimate goal of this move is to create a development space for the new administrative units that aligns with the National Master Plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Following the re-organisation, the number of provincial-level units could be cut by nearly 50%, and grassroots-level units by over 70%.
