Vietnam Railway will launch a cargo transport platform on August 10 with an aim of creating favourable conditions for customers to select the railway transport services.

The General Department of Vietnam Customs has asked relevant parties to boost the exportation of agricultural products by rail, especially across the northern border, in response to overloaded land transport and soaring costs.

Kazakh Ambassador to Vietnam Bakytzhan Zhumagulov has suggested Kazakhstan and Vietnam team up in railway transportation at a press conference in Hanoi on June 23.

The Prime Minister recently approved adjustments to a master plan on railway development through 2020, with a vision toward 2030.
