Phong Tho, a border district in the northwestern province of Lai Chau, is home to over 8,000 ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees, the largest number of such trees in the region.

Apart from stilt houses and seemingly endless terraced paddy fields, “shan tuyet” tea, a famous specialty of Phin Ho village, is one of the special things visitors cannot forget once setting foot in Tay Con Linh Mountain in the northernmost province of Ha Giang.

Growing in a cool mountain climate and a fresh natural environment, Phin Ho “shan tuyet” tea is renowned for its pure and moreish taste.

The third edition of the Moc Chau Tea Festival began on April 6 at Vinatea Moc Chau, a member of the Vietnam National Tea Corporation (Vinatea), in northern Son La province, bringing together six local tea producers.

Experts gathered at a workshop on December 23 to discuss ways to develop the tea sector in the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang.
