Vietnam always attaches great importance to strengthening ties with traditional friends in Central and Eastern Europe, with Hungary being a top priority, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told visiting Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas at their meeting in Hanoi on May 29.
The leaders agreed to continue to effectively implement the agreements between the two countries, promote cooperation in traditional areas such as trade - investment, science - technology, education - training, national defence - security, medicine - pharmacy, culture - tourism and people-to-people exchange, and expand collaboration to areas where both sides have strengths and needs such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and labour.
President Luong Cuong stressed that the Hungarian President’s official visit is a significant event that contributes to creating a breakthrough in deepening and enhancing the effectiveness of the Vietnam–Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.
President Luong Cuong expressed optimism about the future, saying that driven by the enormous potential and shared determination of both nations' leaders and peoples, the Vietnam – Hungary Comprehensive Partnership will continue to thrive, not only benefiting their peoples but also contributing to peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region and beyond.
The visit is expected to deepen the two countries' traditional ties while opening new avenues for cooperation in renewable energy, nuclear energy, labour, information and communication technology, digital transition, and green transformation.
Taking place as the two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations (February 3, 1950 – 2025), President Sulyok Tamas’ visit to Vietnam marks a significant milestone and opens new cooperation opportunities in the Vietnam–Hungary Comprehensive Partnership.
