At least 20 people have died, and 14 others are missing due to the combined effects of the southwest monsoon, and two tropical cyclones of Ferdie and Gener, the Philippine authorities said on September 18.

Two to four severe weather systems are predicted to directly affect Vietnam from now to the end of the year, according to the National Centre for Hydrometeorological Forecasting (NCHMF). ​

The weather in northern localities is forecast to become chillier in November, with four to six cold spells expected to sweep over the region in the month, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
