This is the first visit to Sweden by a Vietnamese PM in six years, aiming to further intensify Vietnam’s relations with Sweden, which holds an important role and stature in Europe.
The trip is being made at the invitations of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had separate meetings with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the World Bank Group Ajay Banga, and Swedish PM Ulf Kristersson in Dubai on December 2, on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit at the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28).
