Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasised that sustainable fisheries are closely linked to the implementation of several other sustainable development goals, yet remain a complex issue with overlapping challenges.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son presented Vietnam's ratification document to UN Under Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and Legal Counsel Elinor Jane Britt Hammarskjöld, officially confirming the country's approval of the High Seas Treaty.

The two leaders expressed their determination to further strengthen Vietnam–France relations, positioning each country as a bridge for the other in Asia and Europe.

The EU should strengthen its ties with Southeast Asia — a populous, youthful, and dynamically growing region with great development potential, PM Pham Minh Chinh stressed, affirming that Vietnam stands ready to serve as a bridge to help the EU deepen its relationship with the region.

PM Chinh is set to deliver two keynote speeches representing ASEAN and Vietnam at the plenary session of the third United Nations Ocean Conference. 

Vietnam is promoting the development of a blue economy, encouraging eco-friendly industries such as marine ecotourism and offshore renewable energy.
