Three Vietnamese enterprises have participated in the 2024 World of Coffee 2024 festival, which was organised by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 27-29.
The opening ceremony of the 8th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival took place in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak – dubbed ‘Vietnam’s coffee capital’ – on March 10 evening.
Vietnam aims to replant or transplant about 107,000ha of coffee by 2025, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The productivity is expected to rise to 3.5 tonnes of coffee bean per ha, with an income 1.5-2 times higher than before.
In the 10 years since it began NESCAFÉ Plan, a public-private partnership programme between Nestlé, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Western Highlands Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute and other partners, has helped improve the quality of coffee beans and increase farmers’ incomes by 30 percent.
Vietnamese tea, coffee and coconut products are among those on display at the international trade fair WorldFood Moscow 2020 underway in the Russian capital from September 22 – 25.
