Vietnam hosted more than 9.2 million international tourists in the first five months of the year, rising by 21.3% against the same time of 2024, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).
In the first four months of this year, Vietnam welcomed 7.67 million international visitors, marking a 23.8% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth can be attributed to favorable visa policies and strong tourism promotion efforts.
The top 10 most searched Vietnamese destinations were Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, Hoi An, Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, and Hue. Notably, Vung Tau and Ninh Binh recorded the highest growth in search volume with over 75%.
With joint efforts from businesses, local authorities, communities, and travellers, the road to green tourism, though not lined with roses, may be the most rewarding path forward for Vietnam’s tourism future.
