Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnamese Permanent Representative to the UN, affirmed that cinema plays a vital role as a cultural bridge, helping the two peoples become closer and understand each other over the 30 years of normalisation, development, and enhancement of bilateral relations.

The visit to Vietnam by US Secretary of Defence Mark Esper on November 20-21 aims to deepen the bilateral defence ties in a practical and effective manner, said Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang.

Diplomats and scholars of Vietnam and the US have gathered at a seminar in Washington DC, discussing a wide range of cooperation fields, including defence and security, between the two countries.

The US stands ready to sponsor, support and share its experience in building smart cities with Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular, US Ambassador to Vietnam Ted Osius said.
