On May 7 seventy years ago, a Vietnamese flag flew atop the bunker of French General De Castries, signalling a glorious victory for Vietnamese nation in the battle at Dien Bien Phu.

The Vietnamese Consulate in New York, the United States, in collaboration with the administration of Jersey city in the state of New Jersey held a ceremony on September 2 (local time) to raise the Vietnamese flag at the City Hall, marking the 76th National Day of Vietnam.

Vietnamese flag was hoisted at Kemayoran athlete village in Jakarta capital of Indonesia at a ceremony on August 16 within the framework of the 18th Asian Games (ASIAD 18).
