Canada offers substantial potential to Vietnamese wood and wooden furniture exporters, experts told a Vietnam-Canada trade exchange held online on September 30.
Vietnam’s wood exports this year are set to reach up to 11.5 billion USD, exceeding the industry’s own target of 10.5 billion USD, a 20 percent increase compared to last year.
Vietnam is current the top exporter of wood and furniture in Southeast Asia, the second biggest in Asia and the fifth in the world, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
An upturn has been seen in exports of wood and wooden products, with export value in the first five months of 2018 reaching 3.3 billion USD, up 8.2 percent from the same period last year.
