Vietnamese tourism sector needs to get on the environmentally-friendly bandwagon or risks losing its competitive edge over regional peers, according to Director of the Institute for Brand and Competitiveness Strategy Dr Vo Tri Thanh.

The formation of the world’s largest free trade area under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) will create a stable and long-term export market for Vietnam, thereby contributing to enforcement of the policy on building an export-oriented production sector.

The European Union – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) offers chances for Vietnam to boost exports and attract more quality investment, said Dr. Vo Tri Thanh, Director of the Institute for Brand and Competitiveness Strategy.

Vo Tri Thanh, a senior economist at the CIEM and a member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council, has given his analyses of the way to achieve the 2017 GDP target.
