Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan praised the honorees not only for their frequent donations – some exceeding 60, 80, 90, or even 100 contributions – but also for their noble spirit.

Over the last three decades, Vietnam has witnessed the strong development of the voluntary blood donation movement, which reflects not only people’s solidarity and humanity but also awareness improvement in society.

Multiple activities were held on August 10 at the general hospital of the south-central coastal province of Phu Yen, the first stop of the US-led Pacific Partnership 2023 (PP23).

"Hanh trinh Do" (Red Journey), the country’s largest-scale blood donation campaign, has contributed to raising awareness about voluntary blood donation and handling blood shortages over the past 10 years.

More than 8,600 units of blood have been collected nationwide during the 15th Xuan Hong (Red Spring) festival , 7,000 units higher than the set plan.

A festival of voluntary blood donation was held in the central city of Da Nang on June 16, expecting to collect over 1,000 blood units.

A total of 811 individuals and organisations in Ho Chi Minh City were honoured at a conference on May 31 for donating blood and contributing to the city’s voluntary blood donation movement.

The blood donation Red Spring Festival 2018 took place in the southern province of Binh Phuoc on March 7, attracting over 800 young people and volunteers.
