The 3rd ASEAN Women Leaders' Summit, themed “Strengthening care economy and resilience towards ASEAN Community post-2025,” took place in Vientiane, Laos on August 23.

Vice State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan suggested empowering women and girls in science, technology and digital transformation while addressing the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York on March 11 (local time).

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan will lead a delegation of Vietnam to attend the upcoming Global Summit of Women 2022 (GSW 2022) in Bangkok, Thailand under the theme: “Women: Creating Opportunities in the New Reality.”

The Indonesian and Australian governments have agreed to push for the empowerment of women and girls, who suffered health, economic, and humanitarian impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, via dialogues among women leaders.

Responding to the COVID-19 situation, Miss Universe Vietnam has extended its application deadline to mid-November which will remain adjustable due to the development of the pandemic.

Women should be encouraged to carry forward their strength and contribute to national development and sustainable development in general, heard a forum in Hanoi on March 10.

The 36th ASEAN Summit will be held online on June 26, the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry said on June 21.

The ASEAN pledges to continue to play its part, at both national and regional levels, in advancing the causes of women across the region.

Experts at a women's empowerment forum agreed that although more women are taking part in social and civic activities, few ethnic minorities or disabled women join the activities.
