On behalf of the Party andState leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam presented the hospital with the“Labour Hero in the Renewal Period”, a noble title of the State bestowed uponthose with particularly excellent achievements in their duty performance.
Applauding the hospital’sproud attainments, he said its medical workers and scientists have madebreakthrough development in both quantity and quality, and that they havemastered the most cutting-edge medical equipment and complicated techniques tosave patients with fatal illnesses and conduct historic organ transplantsurgeries.
The hospital has done a goodjob of providing in-depth training for lower-level hospitals to help withdeveloping the national healthcare network, Dam said, noting that it is also abright example of reforming the management model.
Though the 108 MilitaryCentral Hospital is a military establishment, it has not limited its activitiesto giving medical examination and treatment to those serving in the army orconducting studies and training in military medicine, but it has brought intoplay its advantages to contribute to public health care, which has in turnhelped enhance the hospital’s military medical capacity, according to theDeputy PM.
The official told thehospital to push ahead with developing personnel with political firmness, goodmorality, and high professional capacity; step up scientific research andintensive training; boost cooperation with domestic and internationalhealthcare, research, and training establishments; work to equip itself withthe most up-to-date technologies and techniques; and stay ready to respond toany disaster or war condition.
He also requested continuedefforts in COVID-19 prevention and control while asking ministries and sectors,especially the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Health, tocreate the best possible conditions for the hospital to fulfill its gloriousbut also heavy duties.
In his remarks, HospitalDirector Lt. Gen. Mai Hong Bang recalled that the Yen Trach Central Hospital,the predecessor of the 108 Military Central Hospital, was set up in the VietBac revolutionary base 70 years ago, with a military medical team of only 30members.
Throughout the wartime andthe Renewal period, the hospital has weathered every difficulty and challengeand is now one of the five special national hospitals and among the leadingscientific research and medical training centres in Vietnam./.
