2021 Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival slated for December
The 17th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival will be held from December 4-25, a representative from the municipal Tourism Department told a press conference on November 25.
HCM City (VNA) – The 17th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival will be held fromDecember 4-25, a representative from the municipal Tourism Department told apress conference on November 25.
Accordingly, the annual event will take place at a time when the city embarkson the second stage of restoring tourism activities while safely adapting toCOVID-19.
In particular, it willbe also open virtually on the event’s website, the portal of the municipal TourismDepartment at www.visithcmc.vn, Shopeee-commerce site and Traveloka online tour agent.
On both 2D and 3Dplatforms, the festival will draw 100 virtual stalls by prestigious tour agentsand tourism sectors of cities and provinces.
Deputy Director of the department Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu said spaces of the eventwill be divided into two categories, including for tourism, transportation,service and souvenir suppliers; and for local tourism promotion agencies,representative offices and international tourism organisations.
New destinations,local signature tourism products and the latest technologies used in the sectorwill be introduced to the public, she said.
Other notable events as part of the festival include the launch of a tourismrecovery campaign for the city, a start-up competition themed “Joining hands torestore tourism”, a webinar on measures promoting the use of informationtechnology in tourism, and an online exchange with famous travel bloggers suchas Ngo Tran Hai An, Khoai Lang Thang and Nhi Dang.
Following the openingceremony and offline events on December 4-5, the festival will be heldvirtually till December 25 to serve visitors’ shopping demand. Diverse activities will also be organised on these platforms during the Promotional Month 2021 jointly held bythe municipal Department of Industry and Trade, the Department of Tourism and theDepartment of Health.

The 16th edition of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival is set to take place from July 16 to 19, the municipal Department of Tourism and the HCM City Tourism Association announced on July 8.
