Almost 10 billion VND to support orphans, disabled people

Almost 10 billion VND have been raised at the seventh charity art programme entitled “One Heart – One World” that was held at the Hanoi Friendship Palace on April 11.

The programme, organised by the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids andSocial Affairs and the Vietnam Association in Support of Disabled Peopleand Orphans anꦚd the Vietnam Television in anticipation of the VietnamDay of People with Disabilities (April 18), also received 4꧃00 millionVND from the auctions of two MobiFone sim cards.


The annual 'One Heart - One World' programme has become an informationchannel which helps the community get closer to the work of supportingpeople with disabiliti𝓰es and orphans. It is also aimed at calling onsectors, organisations and individuals to join hands to help improve thequality of life for orphans and needy people.


With the donations, the association will conduct cataract surgeriesfor 2,500 poor blind people. It will also provide vocational trainingfor 1,500 disabled people and orphans and 6,000 wh෴eelchairs andbicycles for disabled people and orphans along with 2,500 scholarshipsfor orphans in 10-15 communes.


Also on the occasion, the Phi Long sand picture establishment in thecentral province of Binh Thuan has presented two pictures – latePresident Ho Chi Minh’s portrait and the Hanoi Tortoise Tower –made by disabled ��people to the capit⛦al city to mark the 1,000thmillennial anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi./.
