Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, was elected as President of the Vietnam-US Society (VUS) for the 2021-2026 tenure at the fourth congress of the association on December 3.

Hanoi (VNA) – Ambassador Pham Quang Vinh,former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, was elected as President of theVietnam-US Society (VUS) for the 2021-2026 tenure at the fourth congress of theassociation on December 3.
In his remarks, Vinh, who is also former VietnameseAmbassador to the US, expressed his hope for new breakthroughs inpeople-to-people diplomacy between the two countries, contributing to elevatingthe bilateral relationship to a new height.
Delegates at the congress reviewed outstandingachievements recorded by the VUS over the past term.
Ambassador Nguyen Tam Chien, VUS President for 2012-2021said the association has utilised people-to-people diplomacy to supportexternal affairs of the Party and the State, helping to enhance the Vietnam-USties, ease their differences, consolidate mutual trust, and expand cooperation opportunitiesbetween the two States and peoples.
Le Hoai Trung, head of the Party Central Committee’sCommission for External Relations, lauded the VUS for its performance over thepast time, and urged the association to work harder in the time ahead.
The delegates shared the view that the VUS shouldfocus on promoting the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership intensively andextensively, and improving its operational quality to expand people-to-peoplediplomacy with the US./.

A hub for sharing best practices, the event aims to forge solutions for financial sustainability, public media contracts, audience engagement, content innovation, and newsroom restructuring. It is also a moment for Vietnam’s media to accelerate its progress and figure out what the “revolutionary press” means in a new era.
From “Thanh nien”, Vietnam’s first revolutionary newspaper founded by Nguyen Ai Quoc (later President Ho Chi Minh) on June 21, 1925, the revolutionary press has remained devoted to its sacred missions -accompanying the nation, serving the Fatherland, and working for the people.
