An Giang earns 110.8 million USD from exports in two months

 An Giang (VNA) – Export turnover of the Mekong Delta province of An Giang inFebruary was estimated at 55.25 million USD, up 2.12 percent year-on-year.

According toVo Nguyen Nam, Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade,with the figure, the locality’s export revenue in the first two months of thisyear reached 110.8 million USD, a rise of 5.62 percent against the same periodlast year.

Theprovince’s main export items like rice, seafood and garments-textiles sawhigher export revenue as compared with the corresponding time last year.

During theperiod, An Giang shipped abroad 61,390 tonnes of rice, pocketing 30.76 millionUSD, up 53.2 percent in volume and 72.8 percent in value. Meanwhile, 22,120tonnes of seafood worth 50.73 million USD were delivered overseas, increases of20.09 percent in volume and 52 percent in value.

Otherexports like garments-textiles, footwear, fertilizers and pesticides recordedrevenue equivalent to that of the same period last year.

Thedepartment has partnered with relevant units to remove difficulties inproduction and export facing frozen vegetables whose export turnover slightlydecreased against the corresponding time last year.
