Anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties marked in Ba Ria-Vung Tau
The Union of Friendship Organisations of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on September 15 held a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18).
Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – The Union of Friendship Organisations of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province on September 15 held a ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5) and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18).
Lao Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Phimpha Keomixay and nearly 200 delegates attended the event.
They recalled the bilateral pure and loyal relationship founded by Presidents Ho Chi Minh, Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong and nurtured by leaders of the two Parties, States and people.
The southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has also signed cooperation strategy agreements with the Lao provinces of Houaphanh and Xiengkhouang, and provided 20 billion VND (869,000 USD) in aid to build an elementary school in Xiengkhouang in 2021.
The locality also made it easier for firms to export iron and steel products worth 1.44 million USD to Laos and signed a tourism cooperation agreement with Luang Prabang.
Each year, Ba Ria-Vung Tau holds major celebrations to tighten state diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges with Lao localities𓄧./.
Vietnam and Laos have achieved much from their cooperation, playing a significant part in sustaining political stability and socio-economic development in each country, Counselor and Deputy Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam Chanthaphone Khammanichanh told the Vietnam News Agency.
The Party, State, Fatherland Front and people of Vietnam always attach great importance to and give the top priority to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien told a Lao front official in a meeting in Hanoi on September 13.
Vietnam and Laos opened the youth friendship meeting and the “Following leaders’ footprints” programme 2022 in Hanoi on September 14, with the participation of more than 300 youth delegates from Vietnam and over 100 others from Laos.
Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang attended the annual meeting among the defence ministers of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia in Vientiane on September 14 to strengthen the countries’ defence ties.

Known as the “four pillars for Vietnam’s ascend”, the Pobiburo's Resolutions 57, 59, 66, and 68 focus on cultivating a robust national entrepreneurial spirit, unlocking resources for innovation across society, and accelerating the development of digital economy, knowledge-based economy, green economy, and circular economy, propelling Vietnam forward rapidly and firmly on the path of modernisation and international integration.
Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang cleared up deputies' concern regarding how to spur socio-economic growth, renew traditional growth motives and establish new momentum for development.

Highlighting the transformative potential of the draft law in revitalising Vietnam’s railway industry, Hoang Van Cuong, a deputy of Hanoi, expressed his support for Article 39, which empowers the Prime Minister to issue a list of railway-related goods and services to be assigned or ordered from domestic enterprises for production.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, Hoan, formerly Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, is under investigation for allegedly taking bribes in connection with a case involving the Hoang Long Construction and Manpower Supply JSC and related units.

The National Assembly on June 18 passed the law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Product and Goods Quality, with 408 out of 420 participating deputies voting in favour, accounting for 85.36% of the total.
