Another 30 COVID-19 cases confirmed on August 2 evening

Vietnam recorded 30 new COVID-19 cases on August 2, raising the national tally to 620 as of August 2, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Hanoi (VNA)
– Vietnam recorded 30 newCOVID-19 cases on August 2, raising the national tally to 620 as of August 2,according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention andControl.

Among the new cases, 16 were reported in the centralcity of Da Nang, nine in central Quang Nam province, two in the CentralHighlands province of Dak Lak, one in the southern province of Dong Nai, one inthe south-central province of Khanh Hoa and one in the northern province of HaNam.

Most of the cases are linked to the outbreak in DaNang city, except for Patient No. 603 who returned from the US and wasquarantined upon arrival. He is now under treatment at Khanh Hoa Hospital forTropical Diseases.

The number of cases relating to the outbreak in DaNang has reached 173 since July 25. As many as 307 out of the total cases werequarantined right upon entry.

The committee’s treatment sub-committee reported that373 cases have recovered so far. Among the 247 active patients, six have testednegative for the coronavirus once and eight at least twice. There have beenfive deaths.

More than 94,200 who had close contact with patientsor came from pandemic-hit areas are now under quarantine nationwide./.

ꦚ Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
