Attending the event were 30 representativesof Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other relevant offices andenterprises, and leading economists and experts on the Asian-Pacific region,and both Vietnamese and Russian students.
During the more than two-hour roundtable,participants discussed the tasks of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) Forum 2017, prospects for Vietnam-Russia ties, the role of Russia inAsia-Pacific, as well as the position of Vietnam in the international arena andthe world economy.
They also made recommendations to intensifythe two countries’ relations in all fields and within the framework of APEC2017.
Grigory Trofimtruk, Chairman of the ExpertCouncil of the Eurasian Ideas foundation, stressed that Vietnam is playing animportant role in the region and the global political process. Hosting APEC2017 is a chance for the country to showcase its achievements and the stabilityof its economy.
Delegates agreed that the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Week slated for November in Da Nang will contribute to strengtheningeconomic security and global stability.-VNA
