APEC members study venues for APEC Economic Leaders’ Week
More than 250 representatives from 20 member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and observer organisations on October 5-6 examined venues for events during the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in central Da Nang city and Quang Nam province.

Hanoi (VNA) – More than 250 representatives from 20 member economies of theAsia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and observer organisations on October5-6 examined venues for events during the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Weekin central Da Nang city and Quang Nam province.
Theywere updated on the agenda and relevant information about the APEC EconomicLeaders’ Week slated for November 6-11.
The organising board affirmed that preparations for the week have beenbasically completed.
Carlos Gamarra, a representative of Peru which hosted APEC 2016, said he wasimpressed by Vietnam’s preparations for the event, in terms of infrastructurefacilities, security, logistics and press, expressing his wish that APEC 2017will be a success.
As scheduled, there will be retreat meetings between leaders of the APECeconomies on November 11 and a press conference chaired by Vietnamese PresidentTran Dai Quang the same day.
The APEC CEO Summit is set to take place on October 8-10 and the VietnamBusiness Summit will be held on November 7.
During the week, there will be also many meetings between ministers and senior officialsof the participating economies.
Established in 1989, APEC comprises21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong(China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, NewZealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, ChineseTaipei, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.-VNA

The central city of Da Nang has completed preparations for medical services at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation (APEC) Economic Leaders Week in early November, the municipal Department of Health reported on September 28.
