ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Forum 2015 held in Hanoi

The 2015 ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Forum (AWEF) was organised by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Hanoi on March 6 as part of the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network’s (AWEN) activities.

Accordingto the organising board, the forum aimed to create opportunities forbusinesswomen in the bloc to participate in the global value and supplychain and promote future AWEN activities.

Minister of Labour,Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen highlighted that in abid to enhance women’s roles, Vietnam is completing legislativeframework and gender equality policies, especially economic judicialcapacity for women.

At the forum, numerous specialists agreedthat businesswomen are playing an increasingly important role in eachnation’s development, and should therefore receive greater attentionfrom all levels of society.

Meanwhile, other participantsrecommended that there should be additional conferences to sharebusiness experience and promote trade relations among enterprises in theregion.

They also concurred that governments needto create favourable conditions and support women entrepreneurs in atimely fashion to enable them leverage their capacity to the fullestextent.-VNA
