Aussie students begin Vietnam studies

The first group of students being sponsored by the Australian Government's New Colombo Plan to undertake short-term study in Vietnam this year has arrived in Hanoi.
The first group of students being sponsored by the AustralianGovernment's New Colombo Plan to undertake short-term study in Vietnamthis year has arrived in Hanoi.

More than 160 Australian students will study in Vietnam in 2015 under the new programme.

Withsupport from the Hanoi University of Business and Technology and the HoChi Minh University of Architecture, the students from the SwinburneSchool of Design will have the opportunity to learn about Vietnameseculture and design by visiting some typical examples of localarchitecture and interior design, including the old quarter of Hanoi,the French quarter and new urban areas.

The New Colombo Plan is a100-million AUD initiative to increase the number of Australiansstudying part of their degree in the region, to deepen their knowledgeand understanding of Asia and build people-to-people ties.-VNA
