Hanoi (VNA) - There is no evidence that Vietnam has exporteddumped or subsidised precision pipes and tubes to Australia, according to the Ministryof Industry and Trade’s Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

There appears to be insufficient grounds for the publication of adumping duty notice and a countervailing duty notice in respect of precisionpipes and tubes exported from Vietnam, TRAV quoted the Australian Anti-DumpingCommission (ADC) as saying in its newly-released Preliminary AffirmativeDetermination, following a probe into such products from Vietnam, Taiwan(China), China, and the Republic of Korea.

The ADC found no evidence of significantly different prices for rawmaterials in Vietnam compared to other Asian countries nor official Governmentplans to control or otherwise influence Vietnam’s steel industry.
The ADC said it is also unaware of any intervention by the Vietnamese Government in terms of affecting the normal value of the product.

There exists no evidence of a continuing impact from the Steel MasterPlans, developed by the Vietnamese Government, as these plans have been invalidsince 2019.

Recommendations will be sent by the ADC to Australia’s Minister forIndustry, Science and Technology for final determination.

According to statistics compiled by the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the export turnover of Vietnamese precision steel pipes to Australia in 2019 reached more than 15 million USD./.
