Auxiliary border gates, crossings with China to reopen

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has allowed the re-opening of auxiliary border gates and border crossings to resume trading activities between Vietnam and China, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

Hanoi (VNA) - PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has allowed the re-opening of auxiliary bordergates and border crossings to resume trading activities between Vietnam andChina, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).

The permission was issued atthe proposals from the MoIT and the People’s Committees of Lang Son and QuangNinh provinces on returning those activities to normal at border gates betweenthe two countries.

They include the auxiliaryborder gates of Binh Nghi, Na Hinh, Na Nua, Po Nhung in Lang Son province, andBac Phong Sinh auxiliary border gate and Ka Long border crossing in QuangNinh province.

The PM also allowed the People'sCommittees of border provinces to resume operation of other auxiliary bordergates and border check-points in those provinces based on the local situationand the Government’s existing regulations on management of land border gatesand border trade activities.

The localities only re-open theauxiliary border gates through which a large volume of goods aretransported, especially agricultural and aquatic products for export andimported raw materials for domestic production which are permitted to trade viathe border gates by local authorities of the two sides.

The PM also requested theprovinces ensure control and prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic for people andvehicles engaged in import and export activities under the guidance of theMinistry of Health and other relevant State offices./.
