Ba Ria-Vung Tau IPs enjoy good signs in investment attraction

Despite COVID-19 impacts, industrial parks (IP) in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have seen good signs in investment attraction, according to the provincial IP Management Board.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) – Despite COVID-19impacts, industrial parks (IP) in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau haveseen good signs in investment attraction, according to the provincial IPManagement Board.

According to the board, since the beginning of the year, theIPs drew 44 new projects worth 931.42 million USD, including 32 domestic-fundedand 12 foreign invested projects.

Alongside, 252.04 million USD was added to 21 underwayprojects, the board reported.

The result pushed the total investment that the IPs has lured so far this year to 1.18 billion USD, equivalent to 185 percent of theplan and 141 percent of the figure recorded in the same time last year.

As of the end of October, Ba Ria-Vung Tau attracted 503 validprojects to local IPs, including 246 domestically-invested and 257 foreign investedprojects. They occupy 65.7 percent oftotal area of 12 operating IPs.

The board said that due to impacts of COVID-19, investors ininfrastructure projects in local IPs have yet to be able to make largeinvestment.

It said that in order to get ready to host investors whenCOVID-19 is put under control, the local government has offered support to IPsby creating optimal conditions for them in seeking investment opportunities in the locality and in carrying out administrative proceduresrelated to investment, and by preparing a clean land fund./.
