Ba Ria-Vung Tau (VNA) –The People’s Committee of the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has giventhe green light to two companies to build two solar power plants with a totalinvestment of more than 1.5 trillion VND (64.66 million USD) in the province.
The Energy Development Ltd Cowill invest 796 billion VND to build the Tam Bo solar power plant on 41.38 haof water surface in Tam Bo reservoir. The plant has a design capacity of 35MWp, with an average annual output of 52,123 MWh.
Meanwhile, the DTD NaturalEnergy Investment Co Ltd will build a 35 MWp solar power plant on 40 ha ofwater surface in Gia Hoet 1 reservoir at total cost of 766 billion VND.
Both the plants are located inQuang Thanh commune, Chau Duc district.
The provincial administration requiresthe investors to ensure that construction work will not affect the quality ofwater and structure in the reservoirs as well as the landscape of the areas.
Ba Ria – Vung Tau has favourable conditions forrenewable energy. On average, it has from 2,000 to 2,600 sunny hours per year,with radiant intensity of about 5.47kWh per square metre per day.-VNA
