Bamboo Airways to expand routes throughout Vietnam

Vietnam’s newest carrier Bamboo Airways is carrying out its plan to conduct flights on 37-40 air routes in 2019 with the aim of expanding its network across Vietnam, according to General Director Dang Tat Thang.

Hanoi (VNA) –
Vietnam’s newest carrierBamboo Airways is carrying out its plan to conduct flights on 37-40 air routesin 2019 with the aim of expanding its network across Vietnam, according toGeneral Director Dang Tat Thang.

Besides, international flight plans to Asia,Europe and Oceania could be implemented right from the second quarter of thisyear with Thailand, the Republic of Korea, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, andAustralia as the first destinations.

For the US market, the airline is exploring someplaces such as Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco so that it can open a directroute to the US at the end of 2019 or early 2020.

To realise these plans, on the occasion of the recentsecond summit between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and theUnited States of America (USA) in Hanoi, Bamboo Airways signed anearly-3-billion-USD contract to buy 10 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner wide-body jetswith the US group, in the witness of Party General Secretary and PresidentNguyen Phu Trong and President Donald Trump.

Earlier, Bamboo Airways struck two deals topurchase 44 A321 NEO and 787-9 Dreamliner jets worth 8.8 billion USD fromAirbus and Boeing.-VNA
